Franky Peapod Pom Pom Trim, in Red

Vintage Small Daisy Pearl Trim

Susana Lovely Pom Pom Fringe Trim, in Black

Rhinetone Square Hot Fix Trim

Bonita Pom Pom Fringe, in White

Joyce Suede Rhinestone Tassel with Lobster Clasp Closure, in White

Rayon Chainette Tassel, in Black

Rayon Ric Rac Trim 1”, in Red

Casey Daisy Flower Trim (White Multi), (Coming Soon!)

Crochet flower pin

You’ll also need:

One plain shoulder bag like this one from Amazon.com

Fabric Scraps in a variety of colors

Fabric Glue

Scissors

Step One:

Trim fabric scraps to fit over front pocket detail on the front of the denim bag.

Step Two:

Use fabric glue to apply the fabric scrap to the front of the pocket. You may wish to add some cardboard or plastic to the interior of the bag to prevent glue seeping through.

Step Three:

Press the fabric down to adhere well to the front of the bag. The glue will set relatively quickly, and takes 24 hours to dry thoroughly.

Step Four:

Apply a length of Rhinetone Square Hot Fix Trim to the front of the bag in an arrangement that is pleasing to your eye. My bag had this seam that was the perfect place to add a little bling!

Step Five:

I just adore pom poms for a fun and whimsical look. Trim a short length of Franky Peapod Pom Pom Trim, in Red, and apply to the sides of the pocket, as shown.

Step Six:

Next, this adorable Casey Daisy Flower trim was the perfect accent for the front of my bag. I also added some to the shoulder strap. Don’t you love the pretty boho chic styled flowers?

Step Seven:

Go big, or go home is a perfectly apt phrase for this adorable Susana Lovely Pom Pom Fringe Trim, in Black. I added a section of these cute danglers to the bottom of the front pocket of my bag. They have amazing movement and add such fun to the overall look of this fun handbag.

Step Eight:

To the handles of the bag, I added more colorful fabric scraps, and accented them with this pretty Ribbon Rosette and Emproidery Trim, in Red. I love the way each section is different from the next, and the vibrant shade of crimson makes my handbag really come alive with color for spring.

Step Nine:

More Daisy Crocheted Flower Trim was also added to the handle. I just can’t get enough of this fun texture, and cute flower shape that add a young feel to this darling bag.

Step Ten:

Torn scraps of fabric make a really fun and unexpected embellishment for the side of the bag, but don’t stop there! Add some Bonita Pom Pom Fringe, in White for extra flair and fun.

Step Eleven:

Vintage Small Daisy Pearl Trim was added vertically to the front of the bag as well. The mix of crochet with pom poms and denim is so much fun and gives a blended, playful look to the bag.

To finish off this cute fashionable boho chic handbag, I added a Joyce Suede Rhinestone Tassel with Lobster Clasp Closure, in White, along with a Rayon Chainette Tassel, in Black. They add movement and life to the bag, and can also be used as a cute keychain. To the front of the bag I also affixed a red rose pin made from Rayon Ric Rac Trim 1”, in Red. You can never have too many flowers!

Remember to let the completed bag dry for a full 24 hours before wearing. Prepare yourself for the compliments as you head out into the world with your fashionable boho chic tote for spring!
