Welcome to the Expo International blog and the Design Team who will be creating projects using our trims to inspire all our valued customers.

Introducing talented DT member Christie Troxell from Ritzy Parties. Christie is a party planner and creates stunning unique pieces for her special events. This Spring Egg Centerpiece is our first project we are very excited to share with you!

Springtime is in the air, and with the new season comes the fresh opportunity to update your home décor. This stunning centerpiece is perfect for Easter, or all springtime long. Using beautiful trims from Expo International, an inexpensive papier mache egg is transformed into a designer décor piece, reminiscent of luxurious and elaborately embellished Faberge Eggs.

This large egg caught my eye while shopping; it was a steal at just a few dollars, and is a fantastic blank canvas. I gathered up some supplies, including Expo International’s pearl chain trim and aqua blue ricrac, as well as some rose gold paint, rhinestone gems, and loose flowers from Petaloo in shades of peach, rose and dusty teal.

I started by applying a coat of the rose gold paint. I love DecoArt’s line of Metallics. Once that coat had dried, it was time to add trims!

This pearl trim is sold as purse chain, but like so many of my favorite Expo International trims and embellishments, it’s extremely versatile. I added a bead of hot glue vertically up one side of the painted egg, and applied the trim. I repeated this three times around the perimeter.

Next, I added the ric rac, using the same method. Flowers and leaves were arranged in two of the sections, and a line of rhinestone gems in the others.

The finished centerpiece is a total transformation, and looks so lovely with a coordinating rose gold tablecloth and vintage candlesticks.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out our blog! Hope you are inspired by this gorgeous centerpiece.

See you next Wednesday when you will meet more of our Design Team and more inspiring designs!
