Bright and Boho Easter Egg
by Beth Watson
Don’t you just LOVE fun and happy colors? I do, especially when they are incorporated into a Bright and Boho Easter Egg. The perfect greeting to Spring on your front door and a wonderful alternative to a traditional wreath.
Here’s What You Need:
Lorelli PomPom Fringe Trim ¾” White Multi – 1 yard
Lorlana Baby PomPom Fringe 3/8” Baby Blue – 1 yard
1” Large Polyester Ric Rac Trim Pink – 1 yard
5/8” Medium Rayon Ric Rac Trim Green – 1 yard
½” Medium Rayon Ric Rac Trim Yellow – 1 yard and Fuchsia – 1 yard
1/8” Mini Rayon Ric Rac Trim Royal Blue – 1 yard
Casey Daisy Flower Trim White Multi – 1 yard
Americanna Acrylic Paints by DecoArt – Titanium White and Purple Cow
Wooden Egg Shape (Target Dollar Spot)
Paintbrush, Scissors, Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Here’s How to Make it
Step One:
Base coat wooden egg shape with Titanium White, let dry. Top coat with Purple Cow, let dry. Apply a second coat, if necessary.
Step Two:
Gather a variety of Ric-Rac, Ball Fringe, Pom Pom Fringe and Daisy Trim. Layout the trims, until you are pleased with the pattern and composition.
Step Three:
Glue down all Ric Rac, Ball Fringe, Pom Pom Fringe and Daisy Trim with hot glue gun.
Step Four:
Cut the edges of the trims with scissors, wrap around the sides and attach to the back of the wooden egg with hot glue. Finish the back by tracing the egg shape onto a piece of felt in a coordinating color, cut out and glue on. Attach a ribbon hanger to the back to complete the project.
I love how the multi-colored large ball fringe set the color story for the rest of the project and tied all of the blues, pinks, yellows and greens together to create a cohesive Bright and Boho Easter Egg! I hope that you will use my project as a jumping off point to showcase YOUR Expo International creativity!
